24-HOUR CRISIS HOTLINE
Staffed by The Center and by the Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Action Alliance. Responding 24 hours a day to the needs of survivors. Provides crisis intervention and referrals to community resource.
SEXUAL ASSAULT PREVENTION PROGRAMS
Providing skills in risk reduction and safety planning. The primary focus is to raise community awareness on the impacts of sexual violence and domestic violence to survivors and their support systems.
HOSPITAL AND COURT ACCOMPANIMENT
Supporting survivors of sexual violence and domestic violence at the local hospital, police station and during subsequent court proceedings. The Center offers a trained advocate to listen and provide information that may be needed. Family and friends are also supported during the initial crisis.
ADVOCACY WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT
INDIVIDUAL CRISIS COUNSELING
Assisting survivors, family and friends in working through their emotional issues and taking back control of their lives. The Center provides ongoing individual adult, children and couples counseling to all genders from age 3 years to 18 years and older.
PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS
Training other professionals on appropriate ways to respond to the survivor and their support system regarding sexual violence and/or domestic violence.
Participating in community events to raise public and professional awareness.
