Completing an internship with The Center will give you valuable experience in working with victims of domestic and sexual violence, as well as a greater awareness of community resources available in the area. You will receive hands on experience working with diverse populations such as clients, law enforcement, health care providers, faith community leaders and others. More importantly, you will complete your internship knowing that you have made a difference in working to reduce and eliminate sexual violence in our community. OFFICE ADMINISTRATION INTERNSHIP 

  • Reception and check in of clients and visitors
  • Answering Phones, Data Entry, Research
  • Updating supplies in our donation database
  • Administrative Support
  • Creation of outreach materials
  • Conduct closing duties as needed
  • Assisting with marketing: Making edits to social media, website, and calendars to match day to day activities
  • Support the mission of The Center for Sexual Assault Survivors and all other duties assigned by staff

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Experience working in a fast paced and ever-changing environment highly preferred
  • Multitasking skills and ability to manage and track own work
  • High attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong Organizational Skills
  • Proficient in using Microsoft office programs
  • Ability to work in a confidential environment
  • Able to fulfill minimum requirements for volunteer: 32-hour training prior to counting hours, background check, interview, and filled out application.

Marketing, Social Media, and Outreach Internship

  • Manage multiple social media accounts
  • Brainstorm new social media and marketing strategies
  • Create and distribute outreach materials for upcoming events and programs (videos, brochures, flyers)
  • Take charge of daily posting and profile upkeep
  • Find opportunities to increase our social interaction online, in groups, and for volunteer programming
  • Data Entry, Research
  • Write creative posts to engage individuals on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn
  • Research new social techniques, platforms, and trends
  • Support the mission of The Center for Sexual Assault Survivors and all other duties assigned by staff

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Must have experience working with marketing and social media accounts in professional setting
  • Must feel comfortable working with Microsoft office, social media, and technology software
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Able to work in a confidential environment
  • Able to fulfill minimum requirements for volunteer: 32-hour training prior to counting hours, background check, interview, and filled out application.

Opportunity Specialist, Fundraising, and Special Events Internship

  • Assist in planning and executing the a Special Event with The Center
  • Assist with the development and execution of event communications, deliverables, social media and promotions
  • Analyze communication outcomes and continue to expand upon new outreach initiatives
  • Develop and execute a fundraising opportunity at The Center
  • Work with donor and volunteer database to record donations, volunteer outreach, and analyze community engagement success providing suggestions for better outreach.
  • Support the mission of The Center for Sexual Assault Survivors and all other duties assigned by staff

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Experience working with fundraising, donors, and special events
  • A willingness to reach out to the community i.e.: friendly attitude
  • Feel comfortable designing and executing a program or event
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Able to work in a confidential environment
  • Able to fulfil minimum requirements for volunteer: 32-hour training prior to counting hours, background check, interview, and filled out application.

ALL PROSPECTIVE INTERNS ARE REQUIRED TO:

  • Interview with the Intern Coordinator and/or The Center’s Executive Director
  • Attend and complete a 32-hour training on domestic and sexual violence
