Completing an internship with The Center will give you valuable experience in working with victims of domestic and sexual violence, as well as a greater awareness of community resources available in the area. You will receive hands on experience working with diverse populations such as clients, law enforcement, health care providers, faith community leaders and others.
More importantly, you will complete your internship knowing that you have made a difference in working to reduce and eliminate sexual violence in our community.
OFFICE ADMINISTRATION INTERNSHIP
This position requires 15-20 hours per week and involves maintaining the volunteer database, assisting in the coordination of Center volunteers, administrative support, maintaining donations, updating the supplies in our donation database, answering the phone, and/or other duties assigned by staff.
COMMUNITY EVENTS ORGANIZER INTERNSHIP
This position requires 15-20 hours per week and involves organizing, assisting, and/or facilitating awareness projects, community events and fundraisers. The Center is very active in a variety of ongoing community events including outreaches to local veterans, the local homeless population, the Hispanic community, victims of human trafficking, and events within the faith-based community.
COMMUNITY TRAINER INTERNSHIP
This position requires 15-20 hours per week and involves organizing and updating training materials, statistics and available community resources. This position will also assist in community trainings with law enforcement, healthcare providers, teachers, probation officers, mental health providers and others as requested. The intern may also assist in facilitating and presenting training material if deemed appropriate by Outreach Specialist and the Executive Director.
